1. Who we are
Techera Digital Hub, trading as Techera (“Techera”, “we”, “us”), is a technology company based in Nigeria. We are the data controller for personal data collected through:
- techera.ng, including our Consulting, Academy and Talent pages and their enquiry and enrolment forms;
- TechLearnX (techlearnx.techera.ng), our online learning platform;
- TechDNA (techdna.techera.ng), our AI-powered tech career assessment.
We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where they apply to you, other data protection laws such as the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation.

Information collected automatically
- Technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages and services you request. This is used to deliver the service, prevent abuse (for example rate limiting) and keep our systems secure.
- Sign-in and session data, described in the cookies section below.
Public certificate details. If you earn a TechDNA certificate, its public verification page shows your name (or the first part of your email address if you have not given a name), the role, your score and the date issued, so that anyone you share it with can confirm it is genuine.

We do not use your personal data for advertising, and we do not send marketing messages without your consent. You can opt out of any marketing message at any time.
4. AI-powered features
TechDNA uses OpenAI's models to read the background answers you give at the start of the assessment, tailor which questions you see, and write the short career insight in your results. TechLearnX's AI assistant may use models from OpenAI, Google (Gemini) or Anthropic to answer your questions.
- We send these providers only the information needed for the feature to work, and they process it on our behalf.
- TechDNA scores, role matches and insights are guidance to help you explore your options. They are not used to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you, and no one is hired or rejected by TechDNA automatically.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers store or process data outside Nigeria, including in the United States and the European Union. Where we transfer personal data abroad, we do so as permitted by the NDPA, relying on safeguards such as the provider's contractual data protection commitments and the adequacy of the recipient country's data protection framework.
8. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, and then delete or anonymise it. In particular:
- Email sign-in links work once and expire after 24 hours; admin invitation links expire after 72 hours.
- Unfinished TechDNA assessments are deleted about a week after they expire.
- Account, learning, assessment and certificate data are kept while your account is active, so you can return to your results and certificates. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
- Enquiry and enrolment details are kept for as long as needed to respond to you and follow up, and as part of our business records.
- Payment and financial records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
9. How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashing of passwords and sign-in tokens, access controls on admin tools, and limits on repeated requests. No system is completely secure, so we also monitor for problems and will notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission of a personal data breach where the law requires it.
10. Your rights
Subject to the law, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (this does not affect what we did before you withdrew it);
- complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng), or to the data protection authority where you live.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the address linked to your account or enquiry. We may need to confirm your identity, and we will respond within 30 days.
11. Children and young learners
Some TechLearnX courses, such as exam preparation, are designed for secondary school students. If you are under 18, please use our services with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. Our services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will delete it.
